Rhaeadr Tannery

This tannery from Rhayader was built in the late 18th century and was the last traditional tannery to operate in Wales. It specialized in producing heavy leather for boots and horse harness using oak bark as the main ingredient. The original waterwheel can be seen on the gable wall of the bark mill.
